What I discovered while out today shopping....

Went out for a Father's Day weekend meal with the hubby- and he was nice enough to let me do a bit of shopping while we were out- and together we found out that this new jacket at Anthropologie went remarkably well with what I was already wearing. Really pretty pleating details on the pockets and cuffs, lovely fabric (silk and cotton blend that is so soft to the touch), nipped in waist that isn't immediately apparently in online pictures, soft muted color.   Wishlisted now!!  The hook and eye closure is definitely low, but surpisingly, it worked well with the wrap, collared blouse I was wearing, so I wasn't all that concerned about it.   As a note- the description below calls it slouchy- I found the sleeves slouchy because they are shortened and gathered, but the jacket itself was tailored, but perhaps not as slim fitting as some Anthropologie jackets.  As in, it came across my bust reasonably, lol.  I tried it on in the store itself instead of a fitting room, hence the lack of pictures.

Coquille's slouchy silk-cotton jacket - with its drapey shape, pleated pockets and low-slung closure - is ready for languid layering.

Filed under: If I didn't have homework, I would be doing....

I've been drooling over these sewing patterns for the past week or so- they first came to my attention through ModCloth who carried a couple of the patterns a few weeks ago.

Colette Patterns Shop : http://www.colettepatterns.com/

The patterns have a lovely vintage feel, seem to be logically divided into sewing levels, and this is my favorite part, are in sizes that make sense to the modern woman.  I really dislike looking at McCall's and Simplicity patterns and looking at measurements and having the realization that according to them, my perfect size *cough* 12 measurements (meh, I have pictures up on this site, why try to hide it, right?) are actually more like a size 16 according to them.  I can handle it when thinking in terms of UK sizing occasionally, but not when sewing for some reason.  Only time my vanity is threatened.  *shrug*.

Here's a couple of my favorites:
Macaron dress- pockets, charming two tone and scalloped sleeves :)   http://www.colettepatterns.com/shop/macaron

Ginger- A line skirt with customizable details http://www.colettepatterns.com/shop/ginger

Crepe- wrap dress (wraps in back) with two necklines, lovely vintage silhouette, pockets (again :) ) no need to sew buttons or zipper so great starting sewing project.  http://www.colettepatterns.com/shop/crepe

I'm tempted to invest in them for my term breaks....  although I have a feeling I may be super busy during them already!

Globemallow Dress - Anthropologie.com

Globemallow Dress - Anthropologie.com

Globemallow Dress - Anthropologie.com (clipped to Polyvore.com)

My chances of ever finding this dress in my size for myself are exactly slim to none, but hey, it's still so nice to look at and dream......  Are there pieces from a year/years ago that still do that to you too?

UPDATE on unidentified Anthropologie pieces :) one down, one to go- and added bonus piece o.O

Floreat blouse identified today as I was searching for the name of a Lithe blouse?  ok, so I should have seen this one coming...maybe.  Early Floreat pieces were often called Lithe on the Anthro website and sometimes even labelled such- not sure what the story was with production, actual designers or what, but it's made me super curious on many occasions- and this top does have some of the Lithe type embroidery on it.  So I found it today when I was trying to ID the bonus ebay picture I added at the bottom that I still haven't ID'd (hehe).  It's the Wafuku top.

Skirt still unidentified.  Labelled Odille.  100% cotton.  Runs big.  Made in USA.

And as mentioned- bonus ebay ID help for this little Lithe number (maybe I should be searching for Floreat? hmmm)
100% cotton, Made in China

As always, any help is greatly greatly appreciated.  My google fingers and eyes are tired ;)
